They like to dress with a simple and proper style. Look neat and clean is the hallmark of their style daily. They prefer to combine clothes and colors that are not likely extravaganza and more understated but still look chic.
I am sure that this is not original to me, I just sat down and started to play and this is what we ended up with. I am thankful for patient kiddos! We did six ropes across the front of Baby Mermaid's Head Then we took out a section in the back behind her ear like this
and hooked the 3 braids from the left side to the section behind her ear on the right
Then we wove the right sides threw the left side and hooked it to a small section behind her right ear
Then we hooked both sections together under her hair, and I pulled out the curling iron and of course my good friend hairspray and went to town!
Here she is still in her jamies and her hair all dolled up!
So today I went back to my "real" job and I wanted a super simple do, so this was it I parted her "bangs out a parted that to the side, Then I braided a tiny braid Hooked the braid and the "bangs back at the nap of her neck
Combed the back hair smooth, and there you go! told ya it was simple!
I Bought my trash ties last Christmas, was so excited to use them and quite honestly do not love them, I have only used them a couple of times, and I won't purchase any more, if you have them and love them! great, this is of course my opinion, but enough with the rant and on with the hair! so this is baby Mermaids hair and we wanted it up because it was going to be hot! I started with the hair in a high pony and with an elastic then I made a slip type knot out of the trash tie and tightened it up in her hair!
see it really is made out of a wire!
Here I am wrapping the hair and the "trash tie" together
Then I just twist it up on itself and then "sew" the end into the hair and fold it over on itself, I have a hard time getting these in tight but last minute we decided to go swimming and it stayed in beautiful! for which I was very surprised I think it is because we put it in a pony with an elastic first!
here is the back with a bow. When I made this bow set a couple of years ago my dear sweet supportive husband said "seriously Heather, the poor kid looks like Princess Leah" now we try to wear them one at a time or as really high pigtails
I have been teasing baby mermaid because she closes her eyes for every pic, she is super sensitive to light so this is her funny "mom, I am opening my eyes pic"
This is a quick hairdo because we slept in and had to be gone! Here is a twist on the basic Indian braids. We started out parting the hair for pigtails. then Hair sprayed and combed back one side to the back part of her head and braided it down, with not elastics next to her Head. we braided it almost all the way, just leaving enough for a fantail. Then we repeated on the other side. Here is both braids, you could end here if you want in what my kids call Indian braids. Then I just fold up the braid and elastic it together.
Here is both sides done, and of course bows!
from the front
from the back....somehow sideways sorry, I am to lazy to fix this.. and to tired form walking around the Zoo.
