Day camp hair

For day camp Baby mermaid said that she wanted braid bun things that are funky. so This is what I came up with. They were not what baby mermaid had in mind but they were a head turner all day at camp. I had so many comments about how cute her hair was! and they stayed in great all day in the wind and dirt threw hikes and skits! it was a great do!
so I separated her hair into three parts from front to back, her bangs part (four braids from ear to ear)separated
Her pigtail part ( pigtails with three braids each pigtail)pigtails
and the bottom part (four braids again from ear to ear) I started with wet hair and lots of pomade to keep the wispys in the braids!

She was getting sick of sitting there! put that shows the pomade that I use!

so I hook the front and back braids into her pigtails by crossing the far ones and pulling the center ones straight up but you could cross all of them or whatever!hook

then I looped all the braids so the elastics were all together! the loops are NOT even I wanted the elastics to be together to help hold the buns in!

then I ratted and flat Ironed the ends to make it funky stuck some bows in

added a little silly girl

from the back!

and she had a wonderful time at day-camp! oh by the way! see that cute backpack, I love it and got it at  stitcheroos
well hope you enjoy doing your hair!

Glinda the Good Witch!

To cool for hair was Glinda in a recent production of Wizard of Oz, I had to do her hair for the 6 performances and I thought I would give you some pics, She had a HUGE crown and she had to fly so her hair had to be up so it didn't get caught in the mechanism to fly her but not up so high that her crown couldn't fit, when I first thought of Glinda I thought of long curly hair which would have been pretty, but she didn't want it yanked out when they flew her so this is what we came up with!
We started out by putting her hair in three low pigtails

she sat here for a long time holding the camera, by the time we were done with the show I could put it up in about 10 minutes if I didn't have any costume problems that I had to deal with!

then I put each pony in a pin-curl bun, I used TONZ of hairspray! it made the bun look nice and neat and keep it in under crazy circumstances, (she also had to wear a tree costume with a head sock and a jitterbug costume with a head sock so the bun had to stay!

here is a different view of her first bun

the second one done! now it looks like a long bun all the way around the back of her head, I thought I got a close up of the back of her head but we must of had a costume issue come up because I cant find it with the 100+ pics she took while sitting here!

Here she is from the front all Glinda'd out!

and from the back, you can see the harness that she has to fly with and her hair pretty well from this shot!

Easy! Oriental bun

Today we went for a bun to match Little Mermaids dress, this is probably the easiest bun we have ever done!

We put her hair into a half ponytail .

Then we put a chopstick in between her head and the elastic, My hot man put it in a pencil sharpener to make it slide in her hair better!

then I twisted the hair and wrapped it in a figure 8 around the chopstick

just keep wrapping, wrapping wrapping

then I bobby pined the ends around the bun,

Here she is from the front

and from the back!

Messier Pigtail Buns

For today's hair I wanted something quick and up, I hate long hair just straggly especially for school, it always comes back all nasty! so this is what we did!

so we french braided back her bangs sections just in messy non-parted braids, easy you cant mess this up!

this is the side front braid, why I am showing this pic?

Then I pulled back the rest of her hair into lowish pigtails, I included the braids from the front

then you make funky messy buns! I really don't have my own way of a really messy bun, I have borrowed everyone else's ways and then usually I put bobby pins in them till they are not messy anymore

Then I added some bows from my web store! I know I am obsessed with bows

a pic from the back so you can see just how messy this do was! I hope ya enjoyed and I hope this helps inspire you to do this hair do on your little ones!

mouse ears with junk

So Here is Baby Mermaid, we must be running late because Baby Mermaid has a coat on, but to be honest I just found these pics on my hard drive. so who knows!

I parted a triangle of hair and put it in two puffy braids

So I parted out the rest of her hair and put it in even pigtails
Briaded out her pigtais wraped them and secured them with bobby pins!

Stuck in some giant bows and your done!

Happy Thanksgiving! braided buns

Hey! Happy thanks giving! We had quite the crazy month but I am pretty proud that I got as much blogging done as I did! I am off to shop all night and then craft fair for the next two days but hey! I just thought that we would wish you a happy holiday and show you To Cool for Hairs holiday do.as you can see from the pics Baby Mermaid has an addition to her face!
Yep she got glasses! Here she is waiting for her turn to get her hair done!

so I just started putting in little dutch braids in her hair

every witch way no rhyme or reason

Here she is with her braiding done.

Then I pulled it into four ponys around the back of her head then I just put the ponys into pin curls and fixed them up the best I could. ( the stuffing and yams were in the oven so I had a few minutes to work!)

and there you go from the front all the way done (mom would have added a bow, or flower)
I am so thankful for wonderful kids, a awesome hubby that reminds me to slow down and not try to do everything, the best parents in the world, good friends, great friends and awesome followers! Thanks for following me on this wild ride called life!

Double bun, Chinese style!

We found this do on Girly do's by Jen
I love it I have done it on To Cool for Hair and had rave reviews from her friends! but today we did it on baby Mermaid, my bottom curl is a bit funky but i didn't have time to redo it, I think I should have used a few more bobby pins but oh well, by the way can you see the hair glitter strands? remember to enter here!
start by making a double bun in the back and leaving a front section out.
Here is the bun, wrap the left out section around the buns and secure with a bobby pin

we added a bow over the wrapped hair! Just for fun.

side, view!

front, now were ready for church!

Pigtail buns with worms

This is one of my favorite do's I haven't done it forever, the buns I first saw on she does hair, but they substitute for any bun, I love them!I pulled her hair into two pigtails in the back and then twisted down the front in two sections and hooked that into her pigs.
Then you just grab chunks of the pigtails and twist away

Keep twisting they will start to fold up on themselves, keep twisting

once it is twisted up like this then you just put the bunch where you want it and bobby pin it in, I love the tiny bobby pins from Sally's for this hair do, then you don't have huge bobby pins sticking out!

Here is a side view of her bun all done up, you can see the twists in the front, I should have taken pics of that but I forgot! sorry!
from the back you can see why we call these buns worms!

front, with cheese!

done and with bows in, I got so busy I didn't get a pic of just her!
*side note, we did this hair for her baptism on Saturday, she looked gorgeous and was so excited, she woke up at 5 am to get ready, we talked her in to sleeping a little bit longer! We are so proud of our Baby Mermaid! Congratulations sweet heart!
