Day camp hair

For day camp Baby mermaid said that she wanted braid bun things that are funky. so This is what I came up with. They were not what baby mermaid had in mind but they were a head turner all day at camp. I had so many comments about how cute her hair was! and they stayed in great all day in the wind and dirt threw hikes and skits! it was a great do!
so I separated her hair into three parts from front to back, her bangs part (four braids from ear to ear)separated
Her pigtail part ( pigtails with three braids each pigtail)pigtails
and the bottom part (four braids again from ear to ear) I started with wet hair and lots of pomade to keep the wispys in the braids!

She was getting sick of sitting there! put that shows the pomade that I use!

so I hook the front and back braids into her pigtails by crossing the far ones and pulling the center ones straight up but you could cross all of them or whatever!hook

then I looped all the braids so the elastics were all together! the loops are NOT even I wanted the elastics to be together to help hold the buns in!

then I ratted and flat Ironed the ends to make it funky stuck some bows in

added a little silly girl

from the back!

and she had a wonderful time at day-camp! oh by the way! see that cute backpack, I love it and got it at  stitcheroos
well hope you enjoy doing your hair!

punky braids and funky buns

Here we did Little Princesses hair for church, It turned out kinda wild but here ya go, we braided back the front part into two french braids Then we hooked the back part into elastics (as much as I could get to stay up)
So here is her braided pigtails with the back added in

turned those pigtails into messy buns using elastics and bobby pins

added bows from the front

and the side

Then we flipped the back hair and here is a pic from the back

Punky Piggie braids!

Here is our hairdo for today, Its kinda punky and fun.Split hair into pigtails this time they are kinda high

Braid the pigtails and loop them up with a second elastic

fluff them out and add some bows

from the front! can you see the teaser of what our giveaway is tomorrow? Its not the bows!

Funky buns with a zipper

Hey Everyone we had a photo shoot today for my hair bows and my friends custom clothing Stitcheroos So Here is the funny fun Hairdo we did on Baby Mermaid!
we started with a Zipper part, I just braided her hair back and forth across the part I would have liked to do it twice more.... but I was out of time!
Then I pulled the sides up into pigtail, then I braided the pigtails into 6 braids and braided it down 3/4 of the way.

Then I hooked the braids into loops with bobby pins, and left the tops all crazy.

Here she is with crazy tops. at this point I was running crazy, So we ran upstairs I curled and fluffed her ends and I didn't take the camera up so.... NO Pictures for you!

added some of the cutest Minnie Mouse bows EVER!

Here it is from the top with a good view of the zipper

Here she is messing around after the shoot! she has her cute outfit on but I have to admit the wind had picked up quite a bit so her tutu looks a little weird!

cute socks!
there you go!

Spirit Hair

The kiddos go to a school that is K-12 so we had a fun and exciting week of spirit at our school for Homecoming, today was spirit day and because our schools colors are red white and blue we thought that we would color our hair, I just have them lay their head on a book and then cover the book with a piece of paper, I grab the good ole crayola markers and color away!
baby mermaids hair is super long, so it took a lot longer, I like to color hair like this because it washes out really easy, It leaves your hair shiny and smooth unlike spray colors, after you color it with a marker you can still comb it and braid it whatever you want!

Here she is with here "spirit streaks" done

The Little Princess with her hair done!

Monkey Man with his color!

Baby Mermaid with her hair done!

Faces Painted ready to go!

2nd day hair (crimps and braids)

Little mermaid had her hair up in pigtails with diamonds yesterday and so today she wanted crimps and braids. this is what we did.As I took her hair out of elastics, I crimped each section
Crimped up but not ready to go

I braided her hair and hooked the braids behind her head, in the middle of her hair so you cant see the elastic or the ends of the braids

Here is the front with the braids "disappearing" into her mane of hair

The back

and ready for school. (as you can tell I think ties are my girls favorite accessory for the year)

Teenage bun with diagonal braids & positive day

I have so enjoyed this week, To Cool For Hair has had show choir camp all week and has wanted her hair off of her neck! so we have done some really cute things... the only problem with 8am start times we haven't got a lot of pics :( but today we didn't start till 11:00 so I took pics for a tutorial! I did three diagonal french braids from the right side of her head to her left side. then I secured them with an elastic
then I did three diagonal braids from the right side to the left from the bottom to the top so the ends met at the same place and hooked both ends together, so I only have 3 ponys

Then I did my usual pin curl buns across the ponys, they kind of ended up on a diagonal from the right side down, I loved how this looked!

Here she is from the front!

from the top!

I was so excited and she loved it! she told me today I should change her name on my blog because she is definitely NOT to cool for her mom to do her hair! ahhhh, that made my day!

I was a day late on this
but I thought that it was a great idea! and with a happy teenager, a loving hubby and great kids! plus the fact that I don't have to do cub scouts till next week! what could be better! thanks dust bunny hostage for this great idea!

funky summer pigtail bun

To Cool for Hair had to speak in church on Fathers day and she wanted me to do her hair! so I had to take advantage and do something special, yet grown up! so we took a square part on the top and then parted the rest into pigtails set fairly low in the back behind her ears. ( we didn't want the princess Lea look)

Then I parted the square diagonally and dutch french braided the sections.

Hear it is finished braiding, I wish I would have pulled both braids to one side but we pulled one to each pony and fastened with an elastic

Like So

Here we are putting in the funky bun, unlike the other buns I do where I wrap the hair all the way around my fingers, this one I just wrap the middle around my fingers once! then a pull the loop up and bobby pin it to her head.

Here is a pic of me putting in lots of bobby pins! Her hair is so straight and thick that I have to use tons of pins or they just pop out! I told her we should staple them to her scalp... Maybe that's why she doesn't like me to do her hair LOL
This is what makes it messy and funky is the tails sticking out every which way

here is one side after I got all the pin curls in

Back view before I curled it

And the back view
